Driver's License
The renter must have in his/her immediate possession a valid and current driver's license issued by his/her respective department of motor vehicles. In order for the license to be valid, it must pass the following:
• The license must not be expired.
• The license must match the renter who is renting the vehicle.
• If the license uses a P.O. Box as an address, a physical address must be supplied upon renting the vehicle.
• The name on the driver's license must match exactly the imprinted name on the credit card.

Credit Card Rentals
The imprinted name on the credit card must match exactly with the name on the driver's license of the renter. The credit card must be in the immediate possession of the renter, no credit card information will be taken over the phone or any other method. 

Same State Renters
For renters who are renting a vehicle within the same state that their driver's license is issued, the following policies apply:
• 150 free miles per day - $0.29 each additional mile.
• Minimum Age 21.
• Must have proof of full coverage insurance.
• If proof of full coverage is not presented, it is ARAC's policy that the renter purchase CDW and SLI.
• An authorization of $175.00 or 30% over the estimated total, whichever is greater, must be taken on the credit card as a deposit.

For renters who are renting a vehicle outside of the state that their driver's license is issued, the following policies apply:

Debit Card Rentals
The imprinted name on the debit card must match exactly with the name on the driver's license of the renter. The debit card must be in the immediate possession of the renter, no debit card information will be taken over the phone or any other method.

Same State Renters
NO DEBIT CARD RENTALS FOR SAME STATE RENTALS.

Out of State Renters
For renters who are renting a vehicle outside of the state that their driver's license is issued, the following policies apply:
• Minimum Age 21.
• It is ARAC's policy to purchase SLI, if no proof of valid liability insurance is available at the time of the rental.
• No Specialty Cars
• An authorization of $175.00 or 30% over the estimated total, whichever is greater, must be taken on the credit card as a deposit.

For renters who are renting a vehicle outside of the country that their driver's license is issued, the following policies apply:

Cash Rentals
A cash rental applies to any renter who uses cash as a form of security up front for the vehicle. Any amount of cash used with any other form of payment will still be considered a cash rental.

Out of State Renters
For renters who are renting a vehicle outside of the state that their driver's license is issued, the following policies apply: 
• 3 Day Minimum.
• Minimum Age 21.
• It is ARAC's policy to purchase CDW and SLI.o A deposit of $175.00-$400.00 must be left at the time of pick up.
• A return airline ticket must be presented.
• The rental must be the same length as the return airline ticket.

Out of Country Renters
For renters who are renting a vehicle outside of the country that their driver's license is issued, the following policies apply:
• 3 Day Minimum.
• Minimum Age 21.
• It is ARAC's policy to purchase CDW and SLI.o A deposit of $175.00-$400.00 must be left at the time of pick up.
• A return airline ticket must be presented.
• The rental must be the same length as the return airline ticket.

Other Qualifications
• A history of the renter's driving record might be obtained in order to qualify the rental.
• A non-licensed renter can be the primary renter on a contract if the following items are met: 
- There is a licensed driver present.
- The licensed driver is added as the additional driver.
- The primary renter has a valid ID and credit card.

Coverages/Insurance

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
•Renters that opt for this coverage eliminate their financial responsibility for damages incurred while renting a vehicle as long as the terms and conditions of the rental agreement have not been violated. Theft, glass, tires, & loss of use are not covered. Collision Damage Waiver is NOT insurance.
• Prices vary by car class. Please refer to the rental agreement, rental jacket, and any other underlying policies for complete details on the terms and conditions.
• Collision Damage Waiver is available for $17.99 per day and up.

SLI (Supplemental Liability Coverage)
• Supplemental Liability Coverage provides protection for claims against the renter or any authorized driver for injury/death or property damage up to $1,000,000. This is protection for third party claims.
• The cost of this coverage can vary depending on car class. Supplemental Liability Coverage is available for $11.99 per day and up.
• Please check with your insurance agent for more information about your state's coverage requirements as they compare with the state that you are traveling to.

LPC (Limited Protection Coverage)
• LPC covers the renter's insurance deductible up to $500.00.
• The renter's insurance will still be responsible for any claims over this amount.
• This coverage cannot be combined with CDW and must be combined with the renter's own insurance collision coverage.
• The cost for this coverage is $5.99 per day.

Declining Coverage
• For those renters who wish to decline coverage at the time of the rental, proof of a valid and current automobile insurance policy must be provided to the rental agent.
• The renter will then be solely responsible for the vehicle itself and any third party claims made against it.
• Please check with your insurance agent for more information about your state's coverage requirements as they compare with the state that you are traveling to.

Accepting Coverage
• Coverage accepted at the time of pick up cannot be removed from the rental agreement unless the renter returns to the rental counter, has the vehicle checked by the car rental staff and signs for the coverage to be removed.

Credit Card Coverage
• Some bank credit cards and charge cards offer secondary insurance protection. Secondary insurance protection provides benefits that cover any damage or loss not covered by the limits of your insurance policy. Be sure to verify what your credit card company will and will not cover. Never assume you are protected without first referring to your policy.

Extra Services

Baby Seat
• Before arriving at the rental location, please verify the local and state laws concerning child safety seats. A majority of states require children ages 5 and under to be secured in a federally approved child-restraint seat. However, state laws may vary. 
• Child-restraint seats may be available at the rental location for an additional charge of $5.00 per day
• Please check availability upon arrival.

Additional Driver
• The additional driver must qualify in the same manner as the primary renter, but will not be held responsible for the payment or damage.
• A fee of $5.00 per day will be charged for each additional driver
• This charge can be waived if the additional driver is a spouse or life partner.

Underage Restrictions/Fees
• Minimum age for renting a vehicle is 21 (in some cases 18).
• Underage drivers are not permitted to rent specialty vehicles
• The underage fee is $15.00 per day for drivers 21-24 years of age.
• The underage fee is $20.00 per day for drivers 18-20 years of age.

Fuel Options
• You may return the vehicle with the same amount of gas as you receive it, (this is usually a full tank of gas for on airport locations), and receive no additional charges. However, if you fail to return the vehicle without the proper level of fuel, a charge of $4.50 per gallon will apply in addition to your estimated charges.
• You may pre-purchase the fuel at the beginning of the rental and return the vehicle as close to empty as possible. Note: There is no refund for unused fuel.

Geographical Limitations
• The rental vehicle cannot be driven out of the state in which it was rented unless it is specifically allowed by the rental location.
• For those renting at our Atlanta location, vehicles are allowed to travel in the following states: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.

Parking Tickets/Violations
• The primary renter is responsible for all tickets/violations issued to the rental vehicle and must pay these violations to the authorities that issued the ticket. 
• A $40.00 administration fee will be assessed for each ticket/violation.

Confirmation Number
Your confirmation number is the number that you are given once your reservation has been confirmed. This number can be used to gain access to your reservation information, including your rates or your rental information once you have picked up the vehicle.

Reservation Guarantee
A reservation guarantees the car class that you reserved along with the rate, date and time that you reserved it for. It does not guarantee a specific make and model of a vehicle, nor can it guarantee a reservation for another date.

Cancellations and No-Shows
Reservations are automatically cancelled after 2 hours of expected arrival time.

Maximum and Minimum Rental Length
The maximum rental length is 28 days, while the minimum rental length is 1 day. Rates are calculated based on a 24 hour clock, once this clock has gone past the 24 hour period, another day will be charged.

Coupons
All coupons have specific restrictions and may have black out dates. Please see the specific coupon or call our reservation center for more information concerning the coupon usage.

Rental Extensions
A rental agreement can be extended over the phone if the rental was secured with a credit card and that specific credit card has been authorized for 35% over the new estimated total. However, if the rental was secured with a debit card, or in cash, or if the credit card on file does not have enough to authorize, the renter must come into the rental location in order to extend the contract. See the specific location for more details concerning extensions.

Rates Offered
AIRPORT RENT A CAR OF ATLANTA offers weekly and daily rates. The shortest amount of time that a vehicle can be rented for is 1 day. ARAC does not offer hourly or weekend rates at this time.

Vehicle License Recoupment Fee - This is a fee for the recoupment of vehicle licensing fees that we pay.

This surcharge is dependent on the state in which the vehicle is rented in and is paid to the state for all rental vehicles.
